Mehtani Law Offices specializes in employee-side employment law. We provide contingency representation – if don’t win or settle, we don’t take a fee. Despite working on contingency, we spare no expense to maximize our clients’ chances of success. For example, we are able to pay for the best expert witnesses and private mediators.

We have jury trial, bench trial, appellate court argument, and private arbitration hearing experience. That is, not only have we filed cases in such courts and tribunals, but also we have actually seen many of those cases through to the end. That is surprisingly uncommon among employment litigators. We have also lost some cases – an indication that we are willing to take risks for our clients in hard cases. Over 90% of our cases resolve at a private mediation hearing and many of those resolve very early in the litigation process. That means we routinely deliver an early settlement in conjunction with a live process that allows clients to understand the risks of the case in an interactive manner.

We routinely put together a team of lawyers to prosecute your case depending on the location and needs of the case. Our teams have included lawyers trained at Harvard, Stanford, NYU, Columbia, Boalt Hall (Berkeley), William & Mary, USC, and multiple Wall Street/International law firms.

We have been successful with respect to various types of cases including but not limited to wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, hostie work environment harassment, any type of sexual harassment including quid pro quo harassment and sexual assault, family or medical leave (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, or ADA) and other mandated leaves of absence and/or disability accommodations, maternity and paternity leaves and rights, servicemember rights, and failure to pay wages and other Labor Code violations. We do not turn down cases simply because they are for undocumented workers, who generally enjoy all the same rights of anyone else in the workforce in California.

We believe that we help clients get great results by having the tools to fear no one, but having the wisdom to respect everyone. Call us for a free consultation and give us the opportunity to present you with our advice and strategy before you make a final decision regarding representation.

Managing Attorney Profile

Aanand Mehtani started his legal career at O’Melveny & Myers – a highly selective litigation powerhouse that has incubated some of America’s most successful lawyers, judges, business leaders, and politicians. While at O’Melveny, Mr. Mehtani worked alongside senior statesmen such as Clinton Administration Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Regan Whitehouse Counsel A.B. Culvahouse Jr., and Biden Administration Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, contributing billable work directly to Secretary Mayorkas’s elite practice.

After leaving O’Melveny, Mr. Mehtani went on to specialize in employment litigation at another large international powerhouse which is second to none – the Washington D.C. based Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld . Akin’s employment litigation practice is widely considered to be among the best in the United States, if not the absolute best. Working at Akin Gump, Mr. Mehtani drafted complex briefs in cases where hundreds of millions of dollars were in controversy. Such litigation experience at the best Wall Street firms is uncommon and it gives lawyers the ability to communicate at the highest level and provide effective advocacy against anyone.

Mr. Mehtani was litigated high-profile cases, profiled in The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times , the Hollywood Reporter, among many other publications and legal journals. Please visit our News and Press page for more information. He has successfully resolved hundreds of cases, routinely obtaining settlements and judgments for his clients in the six and seven figures.
